TSA Precheck is an exclusive airport security system at airports. It helps speed up the process of security by putting you in a special line for Precheck members. The Precheck line only has a metal detector and you don't have to take off your shoes, coat, and belt (etc.). TSA Precheck costs $85 and lasts for five years. They have Precheck at 118 airports. To get Precheck, you need to go be interviewed, have your fingerprints taken and go through other screening processes. Even as a member of Precheck, TSA randomly requires 4% of Precheck members to go through the regular scanning process. This is done to deter criminals from trying to get Precheck since they might still be screened.
